Figurative Oil Paintings

Face and figures are, for most of us, the most recognizable aspects in any painting. Depicting the people we see every day as well as the joy and hurt we feel, no detail connects with us more clearly than the human face. My figurative paintings create a scene and a space through human forms and faces, drawing out a fountain a feelings and a hundred individual moments with each figure.

I use a signature combination of expressive color and style to create environments that meander a finely painted line through imagination and reality. The figures of everyday life meet in between, including faces in the crowd that walk past and become a permanent part of the moment, as well as heroes and icons that float overhead, influencing the fears, hopes and dreams of each person. Dozens of faces look out with the long stares and bright smiles that often depict sorrow or hope for an instant and now display them indefinitely.
